 Are We Not All Beggars?

I love this talk...  I never really had a sense of the temporal life that Jesus led.  I had never thought of Him as being "homeless", but the scriptures do point to that as the reality of His ministry.  When I read that, I had the overwhelming feeling of someone slapping me upside the head and waking me up to the fact that there are so many out there who are impoverished that we, as the people of God, have an obligation to do what we can to help make their world a better place.  Much like Mother Teresa did throughout most of her life.

Another quote that I love (another slap to the head):

Little wonder that King Benjamin says we obtain a remission of our sins by pleading to God, who compassionately responds, but we retain a remission of our sins by compassionately responding to the poor who plead to us.

The Lord stated to Joseph Smith that the poor would one day see the kingdom of God coming to deliver them “in power and great glory.”  We can help fulfil that prophecy by "doing what we can do".

What's a Business for?

Plato taught that no one should be worth more than 4 times another.  That would really help level out the playing field.  This got me thinking about the Law of Consecration and wondered when the time comes when we start to live this law, if society will be much better?  Just something that popped into my mind as I read this.

I just finished writing up the book report on the Hero's Journey - I just wanted to make a note here in my journal that this book will make a great a resource for a restoration of Courage if we become discouraged in our own little journeys, both in business but in life.
