W05 Journal Entry

    Reflecting on the things I've learned this week, I would have to say the assignement of "Spreading Happieness" had the most impact on me.  I say this because it was cool to see the progression of Erica's business grow from something that she loved to do.  She didn't go crazy at first as she was starting out.  She didn't have all the knowledge upfront to be able to start her business - she learned and made improvements as she went along.  

    It was good to see all the factors that she was considering to help grow the business further.  For myself, those options weren't something that I had thought of myself since I'm not in that situation (as of yet), but the fact that the article went through so much detail on how someone with a small business may consider to grow it was invaluable to read about.

    Other than that, I'm working on the side to start my own online business.  Still kind of stuck with what type of product I can stand behind and be excited about.  I have been thinking a lot about hiking gear since it's warm outside now and I've been in the hiking mode for the past month.  I love going outdoors and getting into the mountains.  So, I think that this would be a natural path to take since it's something that I love to do already and having a business surrounded by my hobby would help solidify my desires to get out even more!
