This week's lessons were geared towards Ethics and having a Code of Conduct.  We also learned about Magdalena Yesil for the Case Study we were asked to participate in.

The main focus, though, has been integrity and ensuring that we are personally holding ourselves accountable to be at our upmost best.  It's interesting because most people in the world who get themselves involved in business probably do not place so much emphasis on ethics as they should.  Considering what we've seen in the world these last days, there have been many unscrupulous companies out there that have plagued the land not caring at all for their customers or those around them.  I actually loved the talk from Elder Lynn G. Robbins where he talks about even those businesses that sell tobacco and alcohol claiming that they give their warnings to people about the possible dangers of their product, but yet they still sell their product without hesitation.

I love that we have been focusing so much on this topic and causing us to reflect what it really means to be a business owner.  Are we just in it for the money?  Or are we really invested with our product hoping that it will help others?  What is our true motivation for wanting to own a business?  For me, I want to start and run a business so that someday I can work only for myself and be able to make those decisions that shape my existence in this earthlife.  I want to be able to spend more time with my family without the worry of finances and be able to focus on them and others through service and giving.

I pray each day that the Lord will direct my efforts in taking these business courses to be able to run a successful business that will grant me and my family those righteous desires.
