Well, this is my first real time posting to a blog!  I try to keep a low profile online, so this, to me, feels a little "putting myself out there", but from what I'm currently learning, I feel this will be a good thing for me now and in the long run.

As I have been completing various assignments this week, I would say that I have "re-learned" that relationships with people really do matter.  As I read through the myriad of posts in this course introducing themselves and seeing the replies on their posts, I felt a sense of genuine caring and that people really do want to take the time to get to know you and others.  Not sure if this is a product of the pandemic that we're all still in, but nonetheless, I just felt that really taking time out to get to know others is very important to building a relationship that will serve both parties for the better.

As far as things I still to learn from what I have been exposed to, so far in this course, would be to really find out what my passion is.  I have always had a feeling ever since before I got married that I would eventually have my own business.  Here I am, 25 years later, I am still trying to figure out was my passion is and what it is I could do for a business.  I have tried many ventures in those past 25 years and they always started out to be an exciting journey to embark on, but then always fizzled out.

My wife and I did sign ourselves up for a course to learn ecommerce…  this was something we had dabbled in a little bit in the past and felt like this could be something we could put our energies into and grow it at any scale we would like. We have ourselves involved with a great community of people that are very willing to help each other out and we all celebrate each other’s victories.

The coolest thing I’ve noticed with what we’ve learned in this course is that there is plenty out there for all to enjoy – there’s not “too much” competition in the world of ecommerce.  If you market your products appropriately and ensure that you’re offering more value than the next guy, then you should do well.  I’m excited to see if this is where my passion lies!
